About the Publisher

HOW IT ALL BEGAN is an independent Bulgarian children’s publishing house dedicated to creating meaningful, contemporary stories that resonate with today’s young readers. Our books are driven by strong narratives, distinctive illustration styles and a deep respect for the emotional world of children.

We focus on themes such as identity, belonging, empathy, family, courage and personal growth, often exploring socially relevant topics in a sensitive and accessible way. Many of our stories are inspired by real-life experiences or enriched with elements of folklore, creating a bridge between tradition and modern childhood.

We work closely with Bulgarian authors and illustrators, supporting both established and debut talents, and aim to build a diverse and high-quality catalogue of original titles. Beyond publishing, we actively engage with our audience through school visits, workshops and cultural events, bringing books closer to children and families.

Our goal is to create stories that stay with readers—books that spark conversation, inspire imagination and offer comfort, understanding and connection.

We believe that our authors have meaningful stories to share with children around the world, as they explore universal themes that resonate across cultures. We are open to international collaborations and rights exchange, and we can offer high-quality translations in multiple languages through our network of experienced translators.
